Robot Kid 03:14
I said fly. But it swims! And bends, to its atomic whims. I gave it books, but it just skims! I lost the the copyrights to him I built the shell I built the inside I thought it up But we were both high Robot Kid will never die He used to be so sweet and shy... We raised you up! And you were ours Gave you many Special powers But I got no heart I'm just wire Think I'm gonna Start a fire I've got guns Couple lasers X-ray vision Electric Razors I'm leaving town, I'll be their savior Put good use to my bad behavior You're our baby Robot Boy Built you through and act of joy You played with me like your little toy I needed something to destroy We raised you up! And you were ours Gave you many Special Powers But I got no heart I'm just wire Think I'm gonna Start a fire I blew up tanks And all the war ships I built a lover With platinum hips Long chrome nails and those mercury lips Treasure trail of paper clips Took him to church After school programs He never learned! Never gave a damn I found god, and I punched his lights out Refroze glaciers, rivers I re-route To radiators that cool all my engines I'll live forever with my own inventions Don't need people, with their bad intentions Dogs can stay but cats do not dare mention Dear Robot Kid Will you please spare us? We fucked it up! We're so embarrassed How the hell could you have been so careless? We thought the new light, these new lights would save us

about

Was playing a solo show with Lauren Anderson and Matt Vold, whose voices I love, and thought it'd be cool if I could write some sort of tri-ette with three distinct characters, and decided upon mother-father-child as a doable dynamic. The triette never happened, but twas the inspiration. One of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes is called Lateness of the Hour in which a bourgeois family never leaves their gothic mansion, waited on by robot servants. The daughter of the family hates the robots, wants to leave and start a life but SPOILER she can't cuz she's a robot too. The knowledge wrecks her. She cries out in agony, "What am I? What am I?"
